(The Gear Loop) - Known for both its fast hiking and excellent trail running footwear, Lake District-based Inov-8 is combining its two passions in the ROCLITE G 315 GTX V2.
It features a sticky rubber outsole that, like many of its best trail running shoes, is enhanced with Graphene – the world’s strongest material – for longer-lasting tough grip and Gore-Tex waterproofing to keep feet dry and comfortable.
The shoe is essentially an evolution of the existing ROCLITE G 315 GTX but now packs a flexible rock plate for protection from stones and other sharp objects underfoot. It is further bolstered by a toe bumper and stronger, improved upper materials for greater durability. Plus, a more cushioned midsole foam with added bounce.
Wayne Edy, founder of Inov-8, said: "This is a shoe that does it all. From hiking to trail running to multi-day adventures on land and water, it offers supreme versatility to tackle all types of challenges".
"Our ROCLITE footwear franchise is one of the longest serving in the range and has a loyal global following who trust in its performance. We hope this new addition will encourage more people to give ROCLITE a try".
In terms of grip, Inov-8 has chosen not to mess with a winning formula, as users will find the classic 6mm ROCLITE lugs grip to almost everything.
The midsole features a fairly sizeable 8mm drop and a new POWERFLOW MAX foam to give greater cushioning and energy return.
The latest shoes costs £155/$175/€180 and is available to buy now.
