(The Gear Loop) - Rapha has added two new jerseys to its technically advanced Pro Team range, both of which are focussed on increasingly popular cycling disciplines.

First up is the new Pro Team Crit Jersey, which Rapha claims is its "most technical jersey yet", although we ahem definitely heard that before. Designed with professional crit racing in mind, this top has been engineered for the intense, mass start and short lap rowdiness that makes Criterium Racing so popular with both the riders and crowds.

According to its maker, the Pro Team Crit Jersey has been developed with one Pro crit team in mind: L39ION of Los Angeles, whose domination of US crit racing relies, at least in part, on having the most aerodynamic equipment available.

By reducing the seams across the shoulders, chest and even the pockets, Rapha says it has increased the aerodynamic properties of its jersey to benefit those participating in professional cycling events.

To reinforce a technical, race-ready feel, the rear hem also features a low-profile bonded construction while the low-cut collar is said to minimise irritation and aids heat convection during tough efforts. A lightweight woven fabric is used throughout to create several panels including the back panel.

Designed for short bursts of intense sprinting, this is definitely a jersey for mild to hot race conditions, but still includes reflective Rapha logos and Pro Team stripes for added visibility in case you want to wear it on the road.

It retails at £200/€240/$275 and is available at the Rapha website now in both men's and women's versions.

For those that like to take the race into the wild, Rapha has designed a Pro Team Gravel Jersey that incorporates many of the performance features of its Road and Crit variants, but with unique details to assist with long and arduous gravel races.

"Race distances regularly run into the hundreds of miles at US gravel events so riders are required to carry everything they'll need to sustain themselves and their machines. Midway through the legendary Unbound Gravel course in Kansas, there's a 100km section with no resupply point of any kind," Harry Osborn, Rapha's designer explain.

"We've used a high-power lightweight woven fabric to hold the pockets tight to the body without being restrictive. The addition of a three-quarter zip means that you can open the jersey wide for ventilation without compromising pocket support at all, even on really rough terrain".

In addition to this, the Gravel Jersey features mesh panels for improved body heat regulation, a five pocket storage system, built-in UV protection and aerodynamic textile patterns on the chest and shoulders.

Available in both men's and women's version, it costs £200/€240/$275 and is available now
