(The Gear Loop) - Le Col is celebrating the long and illustrious career of the seven monuments, two Olympic gold medal and four World Road Race Championship-winning road cyclist Fabio Cancellara with a limited range of Aero Jerseys, bib shorts, caps and socks.
Despite the man donning the Tour de France maillot jaune no less than 29 times, the garments aren't merely daubed with yellow, but the geometric colour blocks have been meticulously designed produced in conjunction with the man himself.
Mixing the colours from the beginning of his career at Fassa Bortolo, to those when he represented Switzerland in his national championship, the Olympic colours, as well as the iconic the Swiss national flag and Fabian’s favourite looking team kit - the 2011 Leopard Trek squad - Le Col and Cancellara have mixed things up nicely and created a stylish and bold capsule collection.
Available in Le Col’s high performance Pro Aero Jerseys, these extensively wind tunnel tested garments employ strategically placed fabrics over the sleeves and front to encourage air flow and reduce drag.
As well as moisture wicking properties, reflective details and highly tactile gripper elements to keep everything place, owners will also find Fabian’s achievements subtly stitched into the rear left pocket. On the right sits an icon of a Roman battle helmet; paying homage to the Swiss rider's nickname 'Spartacus'.
For those who require something slightly more relaxed, Le Col’s men’s and women’s Sports Jerseys are also available in a unique Cancellara colour way.
Both the Pro and Sport Bib Shorts are also available to ensure riders aren’t seen with mismatching garments, while the look is finished off with socks and caps, all decked out in the unique graphics and colours.
