(The Gear Loop) - Swiss bike manufacturer BMC has unveiled its latest premium eBike, which takes all of the elements that makes an exquisite road bike but adds a discreet TQ-HPR50 drive system for slick electrical assistance.

Based on a premium carbon frame and fork with internal cable routing, the Roadmachine 01 AMP X features wide tyre clearance, an advanced ICS MTT Suspension stem and modern safety features all built-in, such as integrated computer and light mounts on the handlebar, as well as a built-in rear light that operates from the batteries.

Those 360Wh batteries are neatly stashed within the carbon frame for a sleek look, while the TQ-HPR50 drivetrain is built-in to cranks, similar to the Bosch motors found on the Specialized Turbo Creo SL Comp Carbon Evo that we’ve tested.

In this case, the global version of the bike offers assistance up to 25kmh, the Class 3 US version allows riders to hit the road at up to 28mph (45kmh). BMC says it is the lightest eBike system in its class and weighing just 3,900 grams altogether.

Although designed predominantly for Road, BMC admits that it packs a relaxed endurance geometry for more comfort, with a taller stack height and short chainstays for extended manoeuvrability and a relaxed seating position.

Plus, it comes as standard with monster 35mm wide tyres, although it can handle maximum width of 38mm for bigger tyres and rims.

To top things off, BMC also adds a small display that sits at the top of the crossbar. This shoes remaining battery status and takes care of powering the bike on and off. It’s a slick solution that’s in keeping with the sleek styling.

In terms of price and availability, Roadmachine 01 AMP X is available in six sizes (47,51, 54, 56, 58, 61) and comes in two different models.
